Working in a doctor’s office has it’s perks. I could go on for days about my hatred of scrubs, but somedays, it’s worth it just to hear crazy things. (see previous post regarding poop)
Gardasil is a shot vaccine to guard against HPV (human papillomavirus). A 17 year old girl came in today for her physical and told the nurse that she talked to one of the other doctors about the shot and she wanted to get it today. After verifying that she had all the information about it, the doctor ordered the shot. The shot was given and she left. She then called back later in the day with absurd ideas about how it’s still in the testing stages and how she doesn’t want to be an experiment (It’s FDA approved and is not an experimental drug.) All of this boring stuff to say that the girl asked the doctor today if she could just “take it back out.”
We all had a pretty fantastic laugh about it. Did she really ask the doctor to take the vaccine back out? It doesn’t get absorbed into your bloodstream or anything, right?
Duh.
