As you know, I love football. So it should not be surprising that I love football movies. They are so inspiring. Tonight I am watching “We Are Marshall.” I’m one hour and twenty one minutes into the movie and I’ve already cried twice. That is nothing compared to “Remember The Titans.” I am a baby through that movie. When it comes to “Rudy,” I might as well not even try to control myself. I’m a big football movie baby.
Here is why. Football movies are about real life. Football movies are made because of true life stories. Football movies are not made to be a dramatic story line. Well, maybe they are, but it’s more by coincidence than by effort. They are made because the story line was already there. The story line happened in Huntington, West Virginia in 1970. The story line happened in Notre Dame, Indiana in 1975. The story line happened in Alexandria, Virginia in 1971. The story line happened.
Oh, if only I were a football player. Or even an actor in a football movie… Either one really.
