I had my first shopping experience yesterday with my eco-friendly, cloth shopping bags. I am all about being “green” and being aware of the effects of our own damage to the earth. I think it’s important for people to be informed and educated. Now all that to say this, it’s nice to shop with cloth bags because they hold quite a lot of groceries. The nice man at Wal-Mart did a great job of packing all my groceries into the bags with their appropriate kinds (i.e. frozens together, fruits together, etc.). The only thing that I noticed as a hinderance to my new green self is that the bags are subsequently very heavy because they hold so much more than plastic bags. I guess in the end, it evens out because the weight would be the same no matter how many bags you put them in, but anyway…
