Hi, I'm Emily.
As previously stated, I really don’t like to talk politics with people. Everyone has their own opinion and most people’s opinions when it comes to politics are very strong. This, however, is a monumental day in America’s history and it’s my blog so I’m going to talk about it because, frankly, I can.
My sister got to be in D.C. today for all of these events and let me be the first to say that I’m extremely jealous of her. I know if I were there with her, we would be terrorizing that place [in a very peaceful way] and having the times of our lives. Nevertheless, she’s there and I’m here watching it on TV and that’s okay too.
I am so proud of all that has happened these past few months and today. I feel privileged to be living in history. I used to think it was so cool that my grandma was alive during the Great Depression and that my dad lived through World War 2. Now, on a much happier note, I am living in a time of history too that one day my children will also be impressed with. As corny as it sounds, I am proud to be an American and I’m happy to be living during this time.
It really was an amazing day. It was super cold and I was bundled in so many layers I could hardly move, but the energy of the crowd was contagious for sure! And everyone BUSTED up laughing during Rick Warren’s prayer when he said “Sasha” with this really sassy voice. You would have loved it!
