Hi, I'm Emily.
You know how you don’t know how much you appreciate something until it’s gone? Well, I did not realize how much I watch TV until I don’t have one anymore. It’s only been about 3 hours since I haven’t had one and I’m already going crazy. I think I rely on the noise to get me by. Besides, nothing is better than a mindless Saturday night watching a movie on Lifetime. Come on…
Anyway, as a result of our upcoming nuptials, Kevin and I are selling various things that we have duplicates of: one of those things being TVs. Less than an hour after posting it on Craigs List, I had two people requesting to buy it. So today, it went out the door for a small cash exchange and my living room corner is now empty and the cash is with Kevin (since it was one of his TVs that I was using over here).
I suppose this should not come as a shock to me as I grew up without a TV. In fact, I grew up without movies altogether. I suppose I have lived enough years now with one that I’m looking at my blank cable box thinking, “Good grief. Boring night ahead.” The best part about all of this is that I just said a week ago that I’m going to try to stop watching so much TV. Life lesson #1: never suggest a resolution without being fully ready to commit. 🙂 Hah.
I give you some many props. I could not live without a TV. I am very sad that I don’t have TV channels b/c of where we are at and not a good antennae, but I still get my fix with movies. 🙂
