Hi, I'm Emily.
I made it to Friday! That means two days off to rest my body. I feel really satisfied though with the work that I’ve done this week; I ran 13.58 miles!
This morning was cold enough that I actually wore a long-sleeve shirt to go running and I was really glad to have it! My the end, my ears hurt a little like they do in late Fall when I’m outside too long without a hat. It’s strange that it’s mid-July in Iowa, but I would take this weather any day over the heat and humidity that we usually have. Getting up early to run helps with that as well.
The first song that came on Meredith (my iPod) this morning was called “Chevette” and I was so utterly confused because I have heard “Chevrolet” as well as “Chevy”, but never “Chevette” so that made me run a little faster because I wanted time to google this made-up car before I go to work. (My mind would be turning all day if I didn’t settle this.) It turns out that it’s not made up at all, though I do think it’s funny that it’s made by Chevrolet; the Chevrolet Chevette. Come up with some a little more clever, folks. Anyway, my whole confusion over that made my run go faster because I was so sidetracked, although that meant that I also forgot to breath properly so, with a mile left, my side started burning like crazy. I pushed through it and after about half a mile, it calmed down enough to finish it up (still with one of the best times of the week)! I finished up to MJ “The Way You Make Me Feel”, stretched out, watered my plants (they are thriving, folks!), and now I’m off to take a shower and get ready for work. TGIF.
Kevin & I are leaving tomorrow for St. Louis and I’m looking forward to it so much!! I’ll post about our adventures after we have them.
Peace, Axe (which Kevin sprayed on me this morning because I stank after my run…), and short vacations/long weekends.
