Hi, I'm Emily.

Kevin practically had to drag me out of bed this morning to go running. Remarkably though, once I got out there, I didn’t have a lot of trouble with the actual run (I never even once had to think about my breathing), but I did get bored. Maybe I need a new route. I’m so tired of seeing the same scenery every day. My only excitement is if I meet another runner or a bird flies overhead and poops midflight. No birds this morning, although there was a very funny runner!

He was running in the same direction as I was so I saw him in the distance walking at first, but the closer I got, he kept looking back at me like he was scared that I was chasing him and then he would start running wildly for about a minute before stopping to catch his breath. He kept looking over his shoulder at me and then taking off in a mad, albeit brief, sprint. I eventually caught up with him because of his stop-go method of running, but he looked so nervous about having another runner near him that he actually veered over onto the grass from the 7-foot wide bike path so that I could pass him without actually getting near him. Super weird.

That was the most exciting part of my whole 2.75 miles.

Peace, hump day, and strange runners.

Funny indeed. He probably thought you were a celebrity and was giving you a wide berth.
