Hi, I'm Emily.

The air outside is thick with water vapor. It doesn’t feel miserable if you are taking out the trash. It does, however, feel miserable when you are trying to run 4 miles in it.

I thought that I was supposed to run 4 miles today, then I looked at my Nike+ trainer log and realized that I only needed to run 3. But what the heck, I decided, I’ll run 4 miles anyway. I went to Pi-Yo this morning so I should have known to cut back on the running anyway, but I just wanted to run because it seems like forever since I have. (When I’m used to running 5-6 days a week, it’s really hard to cut back to 3 or 4.)
Halfway through my run, thank God, I passed a Quiznos. I went inside, drenched with sweat and practically gasping, and asked them if I could have some water. They came be a cup and I went to the machine, but accidentally got water-down Sierra Mist instead of water. It was just terribly gross. I dumped that out and gulped down some ice cold water. (I don’t think that’s the best thing to do in the middle of a run.) For the next half mile, I was burping from the carbonation of the Sierra Mist water and trying to push myself back into the pace I had before.
Let’s just say that I made it to exactly 4 miles, but then I stopped it and walked the remaining .10 miles to our home. It was just one of those days…
