All the anticipation and excitement has been building up to this weekend. I admit, there was a lot of apprehension and nervousness building too. I mean, I love Pilates and I was devastated when Savannah moved, but the reality of training to become a Pilates teacher was a little overwhelming.
Nevertheless, the end of September has come and it was finally time for my full weekend of Pilates training. Our instructor was [obviously] very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in pointing out the technical details as well as what to look for in students that would be harmful to their workout. She made the class interesting and fun even amidst the looming test and certification.
Because we were all such good students (that’s her words, not mine), we were able to cover a lot more stuff that she normally is able to cover in certifications. We also got out early from class on Saturday and finished about 2 hours early on Sunday. I came home with my Pilates certification in hand and am now officially certified to teach. I don’t have a class lined up yet to teach, but I’m hoping for something in the near future.
For now, I’m proud that I made it through! Whoop, whoop. A year ago, I never would’ve guessed that I would be running 5k’s and teaching Pilates classes. I love my life.
