Hi, I'm Emily.

Ever since I first starting seeing previews for The Blind Side, I knew it would be a movie made for me.  I am a sucker for based-on-true-story football moves.  This includes (but is not limited to) We Are Marshall, Rudy, Remember The Titans, & Friday Night Lights.  I love true stories.  I love football.  I love movies.  Give me a real-life football movie and it’s a perfect trio.  I’ve said this many times before (here and here) so it’s probably not news to anyone about my love of football movies.  Also, to note, I cry the most during football movies.  I don’t think I’ve ever made it through one without crying.

That certainly was no different today when we went to see The Blind Side.  It is the best movie I have seen in 2009, possibly in a much longer time frame.  I was a sobbing mess throughout most of the movie and it didn’t end with the movie.  In fact, as the credits started rolling so did more tears.  By the time we got to the car, my chest felt like it was going to explode with tears.  I don’t know if I’ve ever been so moved by a movie.

I realize this sounds extreme, but I am being very sincere.  I feel like this movie has challenged me and inspired me.  I feel emotionally spent and incredibly changed.

The movie was based on these incredible people:  Sean Tuohy, Michael Oher, & Leigh Anne Tuohy.

Beka, SHAME ON YOU for taking a baby to the theatre!!! Have you not read my rants about parents who do that?!?!

  2. Emily says:

I must've been crying too hard to even see the band take the field. Was that in the movie?!

  3. Carla says:

I loved this movie too and, like you, was crying like when the band takes the field. Definitely one to buy.

  4. The MRS. says:

This was by far the BEST movie that I have seen for a LONG time. I cannot believe how well they show true human nature through the whole movie!! GREAT BLOG, EM!!

It was an amazing movie. I too am I HUGE fan of football, football movies, and based on a true story MOVIES!! AHHH! I love them all!

I cried and cried… I was "one of those people" and took my baby T to the movie. He did so good. Not one cry. Slept most the time….

I have always felt like I needed to adopt. This movie just made me want it right then and there!!! I thought Sandra Bullock did a MARVELOUS job. I loved her role in that movie. Awesome. Awesome! AWESOME!

  6. Emily says:

Seriously, Meg. GO SEE IT! Take Kleenexes. That was my one downfall; no tissues.

  7. Megan says:

I can't wait to go see this! Need to find sitters sometime soon, as it looks like such an amazing movie! I'm with you–love football movies based on true stories 🙂
