Wednesday night was the first of our choir rehearsals at church for our Christmas program. Though I used to be on the 24/7 band at church, I have never been in the choir and it was so much fun! It took me back to the days of high school when we had a girl’s choir that sang the Hallelujah Chorus and we rocked it at Regionals and ended up with first place and command performance in rally. Man, that still kind of gives me chills.
Anyway, back to church choir, we are not singing the Hallelujah Chorus, but we are singing a great selection of other songs. Our first run-through was sight-reading only and I was thankful for my new choir friend, Rachael, because we shared music and and helped each other with the note jumping on the alto 1 sections. I am really excited for our last rehearsal when we get to combine with the orchestra. I just love singing.
For anyone interested, the programs are the weekend before Christmas, December 19 & 20.
In other Christmas news, I am busting out the Christmas songs because I love, love, love Christmas music! We also ordered our tree online last night and I am antsy for it to arrive at our door so we can immediately put it up along with the new decorations that I got last year in the after-Christmas sale. This is the first year that I’ve ever had a fireplace so I am also thrilled about the sockings to hang up. I get so excited about all the little details. I’m kind of a Christmas nerd.
I [heart] Christmas!!
