I rarely shop at Wal-Mart. There are several reasons for this decision of mine, but it’s primarily because I just don’t like the store. It’s dirty, the parking is terrible, they have those “greeters” at the doors who look like they were dragged there by their wives who were tired of having them home all day since their retirement, and there are never enough check-out lanes open and the self check-out lanes are always breaking down in the middle of a transaction because the birthday card didn’t weigh enough to trigger the sensor so it thinks I’m stealing. (True story: I actually did see two college girls stealing Cool-Aid packets because the packets didn’t weigh enough so they scanned one and then put 20 in their bag and scanned another one and put 20 in. They walked out with over 100 packets of Cool-Aid and only paid for 5.)
As a result of my distaste for Wal-Mart, I rarely shop there. Today I made my quarterly trip to Wal-Mart. I discovered another reason that I dislike Wal-Mart: their shopping carts. They were shocking me every time I would touch them. Consequently, every time I touch the freezer door, I would jump back because of the electric shock. It was the worst to push that cart around and get shocked every time I took my hand off of the cart. Upon investigation, there have been several other complaints (here and here) about Wal-Mart shopping carts shocking other people too.
Just another reason to not shop there.
