I love trees. I find that trees are such a true beauty of nature. They have a beautiful, unseen, deep root system that ties them to the earth, but then, in complete opposite character, they stretch their branches toward the heavens. Trees don’t change. They are rooted. They are grounded. They just stay right there and grace us with their beauty.
My friend, Sara, loves the sky. It’s always changing, never the same. The sky is the opposite of the trees. It’s free. It’s never, ever the same. It changes every minute. In fact, the other day a cloud looked just like Abraham Lincoln’s profile, but by the time I got inside, grabbed my camera, and back outside, it had changed. That’s the sky.
I think it’s a challenge to figure out how to replicate both the trees and the skies, to be both grounded and free. Once a person can figure out that balance though, I think it’s the beautiful combination of nature possible.
(I love how there’s that random tree in the middle of the field. I couldn’t resist it! Coincidentally, this was nearby my perfect tree.)
