What is the best way to end the long weekend of American traditions and celebrations? Why, roast marshmallows and make s’mores, of course! So that is just what we did.
There were a lot of helpers to get the fire blazing before it smoldered down into wispy ashes, perfect for roasting. (As a disclaimer, Dad was there the whole time for parental supervision.)
There were also a lot of non-helpers who just enjoyed the outdoors and the smell of the pig-farm. (Ugh.)
The fire was ready, bring on the marshmallows! A multitude of kids, a bunch of whittled sticks (Dad literally pulled out his pocket knife and just, slice, slice, slice, got those sticks into little marshmallow-poking points.), gooey chocolate…this is just something that you can’t help but get messy over! So messy we got.
Yum…the deliciousness that is graham crackers, melted marshmallows, and chocolate. We enjoyed it to the extreme and I won’t even tell you how many bags of marshmallows and chocolate we went through. Or how many wet-wipes…
Just as a bonus, because I can’t get enough of this face either, here’s some of the comics of a little girl called Kylie.
