Hi, I'm Emily.
Busy, busy, busy. That’s my life. I read in a magazine a few days ago that 30 minutes by a body of water will relax a person. I decided that today I would try it. I packed up my camera, a book, a magazine, and a sheet (blankets are too hot to lay on in the summer, really!) and went to the nearest body of water. It happens to be a small pond with a walking path around it. Usually, I see people there fishing or running. I found a shaded area, spread out my sheet, and went to work relaxing.
It sure didn’t take long!
I think I fell into a semi-conscious state of sleep. It was so relaxing listening to the fountain. (Yes, there is a beautiful fountain in the middle of the pond.) I also stepped barefoot into grass for the first time in years! Yes, this little farm-raised girl hasn’t stepped in grass barefoot for as long as she can remember. Well, I do remember doing it as a kid. In the summer, my feet would be so calloused and rough that I could run across the gravel and not be limping. The feel of the soft grass under my feet just swished my cares away.
I felt something tickle my arm and I looked down to see this 2.5 inch long bug crawling up my arm, nearing my shoulder. I panicked. I blew at it, trying to avoid touching it. It wouldn’t budge. It was stuck to me. So I had to flick it off. Then I took a picture of it to prove that it was real because people think that I make up animal stories sometimes. (But I never do.)
