He’s my youngest brother, the last one to join the Miller kids.  When he was born, a hard-of-hearing neighbor thought his name was Painting Grease instead of Payton Reese.  Rookie mistake.  I actually credit my parents in coming up with some very clever names for their children.  (Carla Renae, Matthew Jerome, Megan Joy, Emily Lorae, Jordan Parker, and Payton Reese)  Anyway, so Payton was the boy who rounded out our gender teams and dashed my dreams of having a younger sister.  But it turns out that it’s pretty entertaining to have younger brothers too!

Payton is the sports kid, the bookworm, the studious student, and the musician.  I have finally given into the idea that Jordan is growing up, but I can’t quite admit that Payton is too.  Sometimes I still think he’s 5 and somehow I’m the only one who has aged.  I’m in such denial.  Regardless of his age, he’ll always be my baby brother.
