When I was little, I was terribly shy. Incredibly shy. In fact, for several years, I was bribed with candy lollipops just in an effort to get me to look at the camera. It never worked, but I always got the lollipop anyway.
So I understood little Kari’s timidity when I met her. Big people are scary and even more so if they come into your house loaded with a camera and ask you to smile. Um, no. Not happening. But, you know, after coaxing and tickling and Elmo and Skittles, Kari warmed up to me and by the end, she was giving me hugs. (Some people call me a child whisperer…ha!)
If this doesn’t bring a Christmas smile to your face, what will?
Another tool of bribery was letting her open a gift early. Boy, I wish my mom would’ve used that one!
Kisses from mama.
I will admit it readily, I am jealous of her boots. Aren’t they so cute?!
Read your kids a Christmas story and tuck them in tight. Santa will be here before you know it, sleighing through the night.
Merry Christmas! Have a safe and wonderful holiday!!!
