She is precious. Honestly. And even her cry that starts as just a little whimper that soon turns into a screech is the cutest thing you’ve ever heard. She wasn’t keen on having her photos taken, but we went with it anyway. As I left, I thought to myself again how awesome it is to work with great parents who stay relaxed and calm throughout the shoot. And though this is their first child, they are pros already. Daddy knows the rocking, swaying, and cueing that stops the cries and Mama know the kisses, cuddling and little whispers. Willa is a gem who is loved beyond measure. That much is obvious.
I told you Mama was a natural.
Little Willa has killer eyes. She’ll never need eyeliner when she grows up.
Let me just talk about the nursery for a minute. These people have sty-al. (That’s “style” with an added syllable.) And they are both super crafty to boot. Mama can paint like you wouldn’t believe. And those bookshelves and table?: Daddy’s work. The sewing was done by Grandma. Willa gets props for having such a cool bedroom. I didn’t look in her closet, but I know for a fact that she’s got a rockin’ sweater that she gets to wear next winter. (I know this because I picked it out for her and it’s sassy!)
“If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle.” (Vincent van Gogh)
Baby Willa, in all the world, there is no one as unique, as special, as lovely as you. It was my pleasure to meet you.
