I never watched The Price Is Right when I was a child. We didn’t have a television. I still to this day haven’t watched it. I don’t really know the concept or how it works, yet somehow Kevin and I have managed to turn our grocery trips in The Price Is Right contests at the checkout lane.
Kevin tells me that you have to be the closest to the correct price without going over. So as we pile our groceries onto the belt, we throw out our guesses and then get excited (or disappointed) as the total starts increasing. I’m quite certain that the cashiers think that we’re crazy. Then again, it might be because I like to use a British accent in the grocery store just to make Kevin go mad. Between the British accent and the conversation over the total bill, we’re pretty much looney tunes, but that’s okay, because we are having fun.
Today I guessed $121.17. Kevin guessed $114.00. Our total bill?: $114.75. He may have been doing calculations while he was pushing the cart, but my guess is that he just got lucky. Seventy-five cents off. Very lucky indeed.
Now if you’re asking how two people can spend that much on groceries, don’t even bother. Our refrigerator was absolutely empty and we also needed little mini ice creams. Priorities, people. Priorities.
So for today, The Price Is Right winner is Kevin. Game on.
