I was so excited to meet little Brooklyn. Her mom and my husband work together so I had heard about her impending arrival several months ago. I joked to Kevin that he could get some tips from Dwight on The Office should he have to do an emergency baby delivery at work.
All kidding aside, I was so excited to be asked to take Brooklyn’s newborn photos. Every time I see a new little human, I am amazed and mesmerized. Brooklyn had no different effect on me. She’s perfect. She has soft, dark hair, blue eyes, and long legs. (Model much?) She was wide awake when I got there and her eyes were so interested in what was going on. (She’s a smart little one, I can tell already.)
When she started getting hungry and fussy, we worked magic on her and popped in her pacifier, laid her on her tummy, rubbed her back, and she fell asleep. Once she was out, she was like clay. I just moved her around, tucking her legs up under her and moving her little hands. Just in time for the shoot to end, she woke back up and we snagged a few more with her eyes alert. She was like a dream; the best of both worlds. It’s not often that I get the baby both awake and asleep. (Especially in that order!)
I know that her mama and daddy are proud parents and they should be. Someone once said that babies are such a nice way to start people; I couldn’t agree more. Brooklyn is a beautiful, special little girl who is loved very much. It’s always fun to imagine who babies are going to grow up to be; I think Brooklyn is going to grow up to be very sweet, kind spoken, honest, and have a heart full of love. We already know she’ll be beautiful; that’s a given.
Welcome, little Brooklyn.
