Every show is amazing. There’s just no other way of saying it. I kept gasping and grabbing Kevin’s arm and saying, “No, that didn’t just happen. That’s not real!”
Jumping rope in a pyramid of 12 people on top of each other, balancing and walking on large balls with a person standing on your shoulders, free falling from high than a story down on to a trampoline and walking horizontal back up the wall, leaping and spinning and finally arcing through a small golden hoop, twirling on a hope high in the sky…the list goes on and on. Cirque du Soleil continues to make me astonished.
Our very first show was Corteo in Columbus, Ohio. Part of it was the beauty of the show, the story, the music and part of it was that it was our first Cirque show so our jaws were dropped the whole time. We’ve since gone on the list to get first dibs at tickets and have made it our goal to see all of the Cirque shows in our lifetime. So far, we have four down. Our jaws continue to drop, but we still say that nothing will quite match that first-ever experience of, “I can’t believe I’m seeing what I’m seeing.”
With very bad camera angles (we were in the front row and I had to hide my iPhone in my lap to discreetly take pictures) and a non-professional camera, none of these images are stunning, but allow me to show you anyway, in just a small, blurry way, the beauty that is Dralion.
