They met at college. She was visiting a mutual friend and they all ended up at the same party. They caught each other’s eyes and spent the night talking, but I would guess that it was the way he made her laugh that made her look him up on Facebook a few days later.
He graduated from college and moved to Iowa City, near his hometown. Out of sheer coincidence, she came to Iowa City to visit a friend of hers who was a student at the University of Iowa. While here, she caught up with her Facebook pal and from then on, single life was history. She moved here after college graduation to put an end to long-distancing.
One night, after a dinner at Red’s, Nate suggested they go to the park across the street and look at the stars. He later says that comment should’ve tipped her off immediately. While sitting at the park, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. In a shocked response, she kept saying, “You’re kidding. Stop joking. Are you serious?!”
I may be completely biased, but these two were the best fun I’ve had in a long time! They are so perfectly suited for each other that I just had to take a step back and watch them for a minute during the shoot. Not only are they both hilarious, but they are so completely comfortable with each other, not afraid to tease and laugh and kiss and hug. It’s so beautiful to watch people in love. I’m so lucky!!
They are planning a beautiful outdoor wedding next summer and I have no doubt that they will outshine the sun that day with their happiness.
