He was stationed around the corner with some shrubs hiding her from view. If he was nervous, he didn’t show it. She rubbed the ribbon on the bouquet, feeling it’s silky finish, as she anticipated him coming up the steps onto the porch where she was standing. It was their first time seeing each other on this beautiful day that had long been in the making.

He took her into his arms and whispered to her, “You are beautiful.”

And he was right, of course. She was beautiful.
