She’s so beautiful. All 7 pounds of her. I always forget how tiny newborns are until I get to snuggle with them when I photograph them. And every single time, I’m amazed all over again. I always think of that quote by Don Herrold, “Babies are such a nice way to start people.” Then I swoon a little bit because it’s absolutely true.
Gosh, she’s so perfect.
This cradle was made for Elin by her grandpa. So, so sweet!
Becoming a big sister has made Kari much less shy than she was the last time I saw her. She had lots of things to say to me, which was hilarious and awesome, and she even sang The Star Spangled Banner for me. It’s her favorite song and she has her favorite youtube versions including Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson.

Elin, you are indeed the perfect way to start a person. You have a fun, energetic older sister to help you figure out the rules of life and I know without doubt that you are loved beyond measure by your family. Welcome to our world!
