In part 1, I showed you Abi & Harrison’s wedding day up to their reception. But there were so many fabulous details that I had to save for this post, including the story to Abi’s second wedding gown. But first, before we get to that, I have to show you the decor inside the Double Round Barn at The Celebration Farm.
Tammy Vittetoe of Violet’s & Pearls created the beautiful centerpieces, unique to each table. In the year leading up to their wedding, Abi & Harrison (and families) had been collecting various plates, all with different patterns and styles, to use at the reception as well as various centerpiece bases like teapots, vases, and vintage coffee cans. Even in all of its variety, everything flowed together beautifully, creating a very personalized, unique reception.
As a surprise, Abi’s parents got Kalona Ice Cream Bars since they are a favorite of the couple! Delish!
Staying true to putting their personal touches on everything, Abi & Harrison included a saxophone (with flowers) as part of the decor. In case you don’t remember, they met because of a saxophone.
Their cake was from Yummy’s Gourmet Cakes. Need I say more?
As for Abi’s second wedding gown, in the months leading up to the wedding, Abi and her mom got started talking about dresses. Abi had already purchased her gown, but wondered if her mom still had hers. They found it tucked away in the house and pulled it out. Abi tried it on and it was a perfect fit on her. She said it was too bad she had already purchased hers or she would just wear her mom’s wedding dress. In the end, Abi decided she’d wear it at the reception and surprise Harrison as well as her grandma, who had sewn the dress for her mom. It was a top-notch secret so Abi quickly changed after the ceremony and snuck outside so her mom could bring her grandma out to see it. Grandma was very surprised.
Abi is holding a photo of her mom in the dress nearly 25 years ago.
Congratulations, Abi & Harrison!!! Thank you for giving me the honor of capturing your beautiful day.
