She was a new hire at 3M, fresh from Iowa State with her engineering degree. He was already on staff. It would be hard not to spot her, her beautiful skin and soft smile, her sense of humor and her laugh.
Multiple drives on work-related trips to their manufacturing facility in Nevada, Missouri brought them together, gave them a chance to talk and get to know each other. Less an 1 year after they met, they began dating.
Krystal says she enjoys classic Chevrolets, crafts, and ridiculous chemistry memes. Bill says he enjoys woodworking, the outdoors, and rolling his eyes at ridiculous chemistry memes. Together, they make a ridiculously perfect couple.
We started out the day at the Marriott where Krystal was getting ready in the Hoover Suite. When I walked in, I was nearly shocked at how relaxing it felt in there. I’m all about relaxing on your wedding day, it’s just that unfortunately it doesn’t happen for everyone. Krystal had taken my advice to build in extra time for getting ready and the calmness of the room lent itself to drinking tea and reading magazines.
I am absolutely OB-sessed with Krystal’s Mia Solano wedding gown!
All of the gorgeous florals were done by Maya at Every Bloomin’ Thing. They both smelled ah-mazing (!) and looked so beautiful and springy–exactly like what Krystal had said she wanted. Also, as an FYI, Bill’s boutonnière had a magnet closure. MAGNET! You guys, this is the best idea. Ever. Do you know long it takes to fumble around trying to pin flowers on guys??? Magnets are the future of flowers. I’m calling it.
Krystal & Bill opted for a First Look and, even though the river is flooded, there was still enough walkway behind the Marriott to take photos there. It was the most beautiful, cloudy day with a lovely breeze. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
Sooooo sweet!!!!
One of my favorite sets right here.
And right here? Favorite.
Krystal’s hair and makeup by Kati Burns was absolutely stunning! It was so natural and pretty; exactly like Krystal.
Bill’s niece, Katie, was the flower girl…and she couldn’t have been cuter if she tried!
Krystal designed all of the paper goods herself and, while it’s generally the best idea to leave it to the professionals, I was absolutely mesmerized with what Krystal did!!!! I kept one for their file in my office just so I can re-read it every once in a while. For a visual artist like myself, this is like eye candy.
They’re married!!!
Their ceremony had been outside in the amphitheatre at The Celebration Farm and their reception was inside the Timber Frame Barn. Bill loves woodworking and so this barn fit them so well. Bill put his hobby to use and did all of the wooden centerpieces and table number holders. Together they made all of the teacup candles.
Krystal & Bill, it was an absolute pleasure to be part of your day. Thank you. Thank you for sharing it with us and for being so relaxed and calm throughout the day. You were a treasure to work with!
