He forgot his phone. That’s how he ended up back at her house after the evening of hanging out with mutual friends who were in town. A few days after that, they went out to eat with friends and she says she wasn’t sure where it would go, but she really liked him and wanted to see him again.

That was back in 2008. In July of this year, they were having a nice night out. One of their last weekends together before football season started and he said she could pick anywhere to go. She wanted to go to Lynn Street (“because it’s awesome and I had a Groupon; even more awesome!”). They were having so much fun together that she didn’t really think about it when he suggested they go “somewhere pretty.” They went to the bridge by Iowa River Power Company and, “he was being so nice [that] I jokingly said, ‘What, are you going to propose or something?’ Then he did!”

It seemed perfect to go back to the area for their engagement photos. Ellie & Chic are laid back, genuine, and fun. I know I’m not the only one looking forward to their wedding next spring, but really, I’m so excited to be part of it!

They brought their dog, Arnold, along for part of the session. He is a charmer.
