t’s safe to say that I’m itching for sunshine again. It’s been dreary and cold lately and I’ve noticed the effects creeping into my mood. I’m anxious for colors outside (enough of the brown already) for birds chirping and for sun to warm my toes. As I was complaining to myself today, I was reminded of all of the things to be thankful for.
One of my favorite books is The Diary of Anne Frank. I am grateful to my elementary and middle school teachers for the 30 minutes of Reading we had every day. I was introduced to some great literature that has stayed with me throughout my lifetime. Anne Frank was one of those books. Anne, in her young age, had quite a few really brilliant thoughts that were far beyond her years. I guess being a Jew during the Holocaust would make you grow up really fast.
In the midst of my cloudy woe-is-me day, I was reminded of something Anne Frank wrote:
And so I’m going to grab an afternoon coffee and be happy. Because much happiness is to be had.
