I feel so lucky to have a venue like The Celebration Farm so close. It is host to so many of my local weddings and, though to some it may seem like it would get boring, I always approach it as if I’m seeing it for the first time; like I would if I were a guest. This past Saturday’s wedding was a real treat because, having worked with the bride, Liz, as a wedding vender herself, it was like celebrating the marriage of one of our own.
Liz & Brock first met in elementary school. (Cue awww!) Brock says he may have asked her out with a dandelion ring, but it’s also possible that he may have given one to every girl in their grade. In high school, they started dating and it was during those years when Brock first knew Liz was the one for him. He says she has always made him a better person and inspires him to do so much.
I always ask both the bride & groom what they are most looking for to on their wedding day and I love to hear their responses. I should mention Liz & Brock are both some of the most genuine, caring people I’ve ever met. Everything about their wedding day was decided around the thought of, “What will our guests love?” That included everything from a pool table at the reception to asking me multiple times if they could get anything for me. So it was no surprise that both Liz & Brock separately said the same thing: they couldn’t wait to celebrate with family and friends in one spot.
In lieu of a guestbook, there was a tree with signing cards which the guests could hang up.
Liz’s brooch bouquet was one of the most stunning (and heavy) I’ve seen. I loved the incorporation of flowers and jewels. It was so so beautiful!
This bridal party… First of all, I love the dresses! Each girl picked out their own and they all coordinated perfectly! Secondly, this group was a hoot.
Liz has been wearing her band for their engagement and didn’t seen her diamond ring until during the ceremony. It’s so gorgeous and it was such a fun surprise for her to see it for the first time!
Love this angle that Kevin was able to grab from above!
Their ceremony was very intimate and then, shortly after, buses of their reception guests came, just in time to ooh and ah over all the lovely details that were put into place by Town or Country Events. Liz wanted “sparkly” and Brenda brought that to life in the most beautiful and elegant of ways!
Adam of Tip Top Cakes decked out each table centerpiece with a stunning (and delicious) cake. I was lucky enough to get to take some leftovers home at the end of the night and, wow, so good!
The hors d’oeuvres and dinner were catered by Blackstone and looked absolutely beautiful!
While the ceremony and dinner were in the Double Round barn, the dance was held in the Timber Frame barn. Unique Events helped light up in the space with their pin lighting and monogram and made the space comfortable with their lounge seating. That is, for those who weren’t dancing!
Liz & Brock, to you I say thank you. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of capturing your wedding day. Thank you for being so genuine and true to yourselves even on a day where most would say should have revolved around you. You are sweet, caring, and happy and, for the record, it was probably the first time I’ve truly teared up during a ceremony. I love you guys so much! Xox! Emily
