They grew up only blocks from each other and though they now live in Colorado, it only seemed fitting to marry in their hometown at the Davenport Country Club.
He says he knew she was the one long before they dated. “I should have asked her out long before I finally did.” They love to laugh together and their love for each other is so evident in the way they interact. They love watching sports together and drinking coffee in the mornings. They love traveling together and Jen says they try to do all the things locals do “although Matt always tries to talk in fake accents and that really annoys me.” It makes me laugh because I also try to talk in fake accents (particularly British) and my husband rolls his eyes at me.
They got engaged in December of last year and Matt pulled off a huge surprise in how he proposed. At the time, they were living in separate states, dating long distance. “I told Jen that I was going to a Bears game in Cleveland so she wouldn’t suspect that I would be trying to surprise her. I then had her sister make fake dinner plans with her.” Upon landing in Denver, he had a pre-arranged limo take him to Jen’s home. “When Jen answered the door thinking it was her sister picking her up for dinner, it was actually me. I got down on one knee and proposed on the spot with our dog jumping on me at the same time.” Jen adds, “We had a fantastic night riding around in the huge limo and going out for dinner & drinks and then met up with a friend and my sister to celebrate!”
Jen & Matt, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your beautiful wedding celebration. Enjoy reminiscing as you scroll on through!
Their first look was so beautiful!
I can’t make this stuff up, you guys.
Then we took off in some golf carts to roam the course. It’s under construction right now, but we still found lots of green space.
The bridal party joined us and I just adore the maids’ dresses! Aren’t they a beautiful group of friends?!
I absolutely adore this shot of them! The new Mr. and Mrs.!!
The inside of the country club was stunningly laid out for the reception.
It had been overcast all day long and I had nearly given up on a chance at sunset photos when, boom, out came the sun just 30 minutes before it dipped over the horizon. We quickly went outside for a few minutes to capture some of the last golden rays.
