One thing I really love and appreciate about my bridal couples is that they can roll with the punches. The day prior to Kristen & Jeremy’s wedding had been filled with beautiful sunshine and brilliant white clouds, but their wedding day was filled with a dismal forecast and pouring rain (and even a tornado watch!). When we got to The Celebration Farm to begin photographing, I stepped into the bridal suite to say hi to Kristen and she was relaxed and excited. Finding the silver lining to having to move their outdoor ceremony in, she said, “You know what? We love the stones and wood beams on the [covered] patio better anyway!”
I had promised her wonderful photos regardless of the weather; promised her we’d make it work. I knew how much she wanted outdoor photos and I had prayed that the weather would break, even if for just a moment. Not only did it break, but the sun even peeked out for a bit! We stepped out for photos and stepped back in when it started raining again. Fifteen minutes later, it stopped and we went out again. This kept happening during the day and I absolutely love that we not only have great memories of going in and out and dodging rain, but we managed to shoot ALL of their photos–couple, bridal party, and family–outside!
Their ceremony was moved in from the outdoor amphitheater to inside the double round. The guests were seated indoors and the bridal party stood on the covered patio. It was a perfect way to have the best of both worlds when weather couldn’t cooperate 100%.
