Late this past fall, we got rid of Perrin’s crib and upgraded her room to big girl status. (She’s very proud.) While we certainly weren’t in a rush to do this, we also suddenly realized that the furniture we needed was going to be really delayed because of shipping issues so, in the end, we were at the mercy of delivery.
Way back when I was first putting together Henry’s nursery, I had tried to pick neutral pieces that would be able to be used again or would also translate well into a child’s room and not be strictly cutesy-nursery. With the exception of the dresser and the bed (and bedding to fit), everything in this room was here before, either from all the way back to 2014 or that I had gotten when we had to split the room apart to make Henry’s big boy room and Perrin’s nursery.
Perrin loves her new bed (“it’s soooo cozy”) and she still, months later, will randomly say things like, “I like my new dresser.”
As with Henry’s bed, we stuck with IKEA. I love the drawers under the bed for extra storage! We got rid of the dresser we had in here before because it was long and low (we used it for a changing table) and, by switching to a taller, narrower dresser, we actually got more storage space while taking up less floor real estate.
Worth noting, both kids have their own Chatbooks subscriptions and they LOVE to look through these books of themselves.
