Back at their winter engagement shoot, with temperatures in the teens (we almost hit 20°F that day!), we knew it would be much warmer at their summer wedding. We weren’t wrong. The heat index this past Saturday hit 110°F leaving us a solid 90° difference between their engagement session and their wedding. These two know how to do extremes!
But truly, I told them at the end of the night, they and their wedding party had great attitudes. We flew through group photos as quickly as possible and no one complained. It makes a huge difference in how fast I can work if everyone listens and cooperates and that was so helpful this past Saturday. I mean, we were all still dripping with sweat, but we knew that going into it. 🙂
When I arrived at the church, there was no one else there (save for a church employee with the key to a room with all of Tayler’s stuff) and it was the perfect way to start a full, busy day: with quiet and ease. I can always get into my creative flow better when I start out with calm. Tayler had left everything at the church beforehand, all tidied and boxed and ready for me to use, and I am so grateful for that level of organization!
In scouting around the church, there was just one spot of shade and it was, thankfully, several feet out along this enormous, neutral wall that faced north. It was the perfect spot for photos before the ceremony! We started out here with Tayler and Travis’ first look.
This wedding party took the Largest Party Award from Samantha and Zach (by slim margins though; only 2!!) though Sam and Zach still win for most kids in their bridal party. What a classy looking group of family and friends!
We went to Pinicon Ridge Park between the ceremony and reception for more photos and this was, by far, the hottest part of the day. Travis said if you caught a fish and put it on the grass, it would still be fine because the air was so humid. There wasn’t even a whisper of a breeze and the air was thick with humidity.
Tayler’s ring is unbelievably beautiful!!!!
The reception was held at the Linn County Fairgrounds.
We explored a bit of the fairgrounds during their reception and found this perfect spot for evening photos.
