On an ice stormy night in February over three years ago, they decided to brave the weather and stick with their dinner plans to meet in person for the first time after having begun their conversations online. There were some “poor shoes choices” (on Chris’ part, says Victoria) and an icy tumble, but the dinner conversation was endless and “the laughs that night did not disappoint.” On his way home that night, Chris called his sister-in-law to say that “Victoria is the most amazing person I have ever met.” This past Saturday, he committed to both an amazing person and an amazing future together with her.
I have long been excited for Victoria & Chris’ wedding and not in small part because these two are so much fun to be around. Their engagement session was a joy and I knew their wedding would have that same energy and love…and heat, haha. It was so hot outside for their engagement session and it was, again, hot outside for their wedding day. But really, did we expect anything else in August in Iowa??
I was also so looking forward to their wedding because it would be my first at The HarMac in Cedar Rapids; a space that I absolutely adore! I had been there for a styled shoot back when it was newly finished and fell in love with the exposed bricks and concrete floors, original window metalwork, grand pillars, natural light, and, as if the inside wasn’t enough, the amazing character and charm of the exterior and neighboring buildings, providing the most fun photo spots. I already can’t wait to shoot there again!
