New Year’s Eve weddings always have an extra dose of sparkle and life to them and McKenna and Derek’s was filled with that plus a whole lot of laughter, happy tears, and a dance floor that was absolutely overflowing. It was such a fun way to end 2022 and ring in the new year!
We started the day early at McKenna’s family home, where all the ladies were getting their hair and makeup done. The space was bursting with conversation and laughter and various stages of updos.
Two days before the wedding, we had a warm burst with a day that hit over 60 degrees. Most of the snow melted and all the ground turned to mud. Thankfully, we had a few backup ideas in mind and it was cold enough Friday and Saturday that the ground mostly froze again so we could use this spot on the family farm where McKenna had wanted to take photos.
After the ceremony at the church, we went to The Gathering Barn where the reception would be. We barely beat the guests, but managed to make it in time to get allllll the detail shots we needed and more! These huge trees were hauled in by friends and family on trailers almost an hour away and they were the perfect addition to make this space a dreamy winter wonderland.
What a way to end the 2022 wedding season!!! It was an absolute dream!
