Hi, I'm Emily.

In the summer of 2018, Maggie was hired to be an engineering intern at a manufacturing plant in Davenport where Jordan was a production engineer. “When I first started out,” she said, “I asked questions to lots of people. I found that Jordan always explained answers the best so I started always going to him with my questions which helped me get to know him.”

They hung out outside of a work a few times during her internship, but their first real date was on the last day of her internship. He made dinner reservations for an Italian place, but, for her last day, a bunch of coworkers all went out for celebratory drinks. Since it was her last day, people kept buying her drinks so that “by the end, I had to go back to Jordan’s apartment and lie down for a while. By the time I was functioning enough for dinner, we had missed our reservation. Jordan found another Italian place that was still open and still made our dinner work! I had a great time despite the delay and change of plans and knew that I wanted the dates to continue even though I was going back to college just a few days later.”

Jordan added that had spent the summer trying to convince her to go to various activities with others outside of work and, by the end of the summer, “didn’t want to later regret not asking her out.” The first year and a half of their relationship, they lived three hours apart and only saw each other on the weekends. After a summer internship the following year for another company, Maggie was offered a full time job, but…it would be at their Tennessee location. “Even though it would’ve been a decent job, I turned it down because I knew I wanted to find a job around the Quad Cities area where Jordan was already working full time.” That was when she knew he was the one.

Jordan described Maggie as being thoughtful, ambitious, and having a sense of humor. He also said what he admires most about her is her patience. Maggie said he “is one of the most well-rounded people I know and is good at almost everything he tries!” She also described him as intelligent, funny, and caring.

Both of them said they are most looking forward to bringing all of their families and friends together to celebrate and party on their wedding day. I can’t wait to be there!!
