Their first date was brunch followed by a hike. “I was late August and so hot,” Camryn said. “I am such an inside person and I was expecting just a quick little 2 or 3 mile hike. (I was definitely not physically or mentally prepared for anything more than 3 miles.) Seven miles later, we were back at ours cars, exchanging phone numbers, and planning our second date.”
They became officially engaged earlier this year, but “it was all pretty planned out and there wasn’t really any room for surprises.” They had talked about getting married and looked at rings together before going to the jeweler and designing one and then picking it up together when it was completed. Camryn is not a fan of surprises (you and me both, girl) and she loved being kept in the loop and knowing exactly what was happening. William’s mom insisted that he still needed to officially ask so he got her a small wooden puzzle that said, “Will you marry me?”
They are now planning their wedding for next year at Walker Homestead and chose to do their engagement session there as well because, well, farm animals are the cutest.
William described Camryn as being hardworking, passionate, and strong-willed. He said her passion (especially as a labor & delivery nurse), her cooking, and putting up with him, lol, are what he most admires about her. Camryn said William is “wildly smart; he is SO smart,” hardworking, and unbelievably kind. Together, they complement each other perfectly.
They both said the same thing about what they’re looking forward to most about their wedding day: “the food, lol.” And honestly, I have no objections to that because if you’ve ever eaten at Walker Homestead, you already know!
