Today is my sister’s birthday. As I’m typing this, I’m sitting on her couch. I hadn’t seen my sister since last summer; I had not been back to Columbus since November 2008. When my plane landed last night, I had this overwhelming feeling of happiness to be coming back into the city that I love so much. More so, I was thrilled to be spending the weekend with my sister!
We stayed up late talking about wedding plans and work and life in general. She went to work this morning before I even woke up so I am here at her house, in my pjs, enjoying relaxing. This afternoon, we are hitting up the wedding dress shopping! I can’t wait. My sister is going to make a gorgeous bride and I have a tingling of excitement all the way down into my stomach for her wedding.
On the birthday note, I had picked up the perfect birthday card for her last February. I have literally been waiting for 11 months to give her this card. (A few times, I nearly just sent it despite it not being her birthday.) As we were sitting on the couch talking last night, I suddenly remembered that I left her perfect birthday card at home!!!!! How dumb am I? In my excitement of getting to be with her on her birthday, I left the 11-months-in-waiting card right back on my desk. Chalk one up for me.
Happy birthday, Carla! I love you. I know this is an oldie, but I just had to reminisce… (I seriously forgot how hilarious this is!)
