The skies were cloudy with thunderstorms on the radar. The city was abuzz with the arrival of President Obama, First Lady Michelle, Vice President Biden, and Second Lady Jill. Not just that, but Hawkeye fans were out in full force celebrating Fryfest in preparation for the big in-state rivalry football game to come the next day. With all of the excitement (and road closures) going on in the city, the church remained a calm shelter. Quiet, peaceful, reverent, and welcoming.
The ladies relaxed in the bridal suite to the tunes of KT Tunstall and Norah Jones, finishing up makeup and hair.
Cat & Rob chose to have a First Look and the skies opened up with a gentle rain right at the same time that my heart melted when they saw each other…
Catherine incorporated some beautiful heirlooms from her mother’s pearl drop necklace to her great aunt’s hair piece from 1918. Seriously, Cat, you are stunnnnnning!!!!
Just look at her face! I love how excited she is!
Their beautiful reception was at Cat’s aunt and uncle’s farm in Lisbon. It was very evident how much love had been put into bringing everything together. Special thanks to Melissa Stanton for coordinating everything!
Adam from Tip Top Cakes made their cake which was not only a masterpiece, but also incredibly delicious! And, trust me, I have a very refined cake palette from years of practice.
