They’ve known each other nearly their whole lives, they said. That’s just how things work in small towns. It wasn’t until a few years ago, however, that they began to develop a relationship.
With both of them being Iowa Hawkeye fans, this year they went to Iowa’s first football game of the season at Soldier Field in Chicago. It was September 1st and the wind was a bit harsher than expected. Brennan got a call and told Danielle they needed to head over to their tailgate early. They made it there before the rest of their group did. It was then that a plane flew overhead trailing a banner with the magic 4 words that would change their relationship from dating to engaged…after she said yes, of course.
Turns out, because of the wind, the pilot had called Brennan to say that it may be too windy to fly that day and maybe he could do it the next week. Brennan said they don’t live in Chicago so it would have to be that day while they were there. There’s no flight allowed an hour before or after a game and, because of the harsh winds, the pilot wanted to fly even earlier than planned. Despite the slight mishap of timing, it truly ended up working perfectly. With the ring carefully tucked into his shoe, he presented her with a question that she didn’t even have to hesitate over.
Danielle & Brennan are such a beautiful couple. Their love for each other is sweet and gentle mixed with beautiful laughter and silliness. I loved every minute of hanging out with them for their engagement session and am so looking forward to their wedding next September!
Winston took the spotlight for a minute. Who could blame him??
Danielle, those eyes…oh.em.gee.
I particularly love this set of photos of their little family…
You two…thank you. You have reminded me all over again of why I adore my wedding couples so much. XO!
