WIND CHIMES

I was at a friend’s home a few weeks ago on an exceptionally beautiful day. She had a wind chime outside and the whole day while we were working I kept commenting about how relaxing that wind chime was. I decided a wind chime would be perfect for our back yard. I’m imagining evenings outside by our fire pit with the slight breeze rustling the chimes. After some research, I purchased the Gregorian Alto  chimes from Woodstock. They have the loveliest tone and, as a bonus, I can hear them while I’m working in my office.

END TABLES

I don’t think end tables get enough credit. I recently redid an old end table from my parents and I’m now gloriously sitting on the couch with my water glass, phone, pen & notebook, and remote all within arm’s reach. Absolutely necessary? No. Luxurious? Yes.

I’m not finished with this book yet–in fact, I’ve only made it through the Facebook section so far–but the applications for a business owner are amazing! As I’ve been reading, I’ve kept a highlighter, sharpie, pen, and sticky notes with me so that I can mark it up and make notes all over it. The interesting thing is that I’ve noticed so many marketing jabs vs. right hooks in other business models since I started reading it and I’m inspired to apply these concepts to my own business.

BRUSSEL SPROUTS

My friend, Sarah, told me about brussels. I mean, I had heard of them, but had never tried them because my siblings had always said they were gross. I decided to give it a go and made my first brussel sprouts earlier this week. And I absolutely LOVE them. I’ve since eaten so many that I almost made myself sick, but I can’t stop eating them. My favorite meal right now is fresh mushrooms (sliced), asparagus (cut into about 1-inch pieces), and brussel sprouts (cut in  half), sautéed in a pan for a few minutes with a little bit of olive oil. Salt & pepper a bit and I could eat it every meal of every day. And I have…
