“It was a disaster,” Brady recalled the proposal. “Nothing went as planned. Rain. Couldn’t find the cows. Jenna wouldn’t get out of the truck…”
Jenna said she had a hunch, because it’s typically hard to keep secrets from her. “On a Friday afternoon, Brady got done working early and said he wanted to go check a couple groups of cows at a pasture around our house. At first, I didn’t think much about it, but I was dragging my feet. It was the end of the week, I was just ready to be home. He offered ice cream first because he knew that’d interest me (he knows me so well) and off we went.
“When we got to my favorite group of cows, it started raining. And I mean, absolute downpour. (I made sure he knew this is why we should’ve waited to check the cows.) I told him it was no big deal and we’d just come back another day. At this point, it started feeling suspicious. He was adamant that we stay and check this group on that day. He asked me to carry out the bucket of feed to the cows, and before I knew it, he was asking me to be his WIFE!
“While it probably wasn’t the picture-perfect proposal that most girls dream of (I mean, come on, Brady, you didn’t even let me brush my hair before leaving the house), it was so perfectly us! We are over-the-moon excited to spend forever with each other. We truly are best friends.”

Jenna and Brady met in 2019 at the Iowa State Fair. “Who would’ve guessed a couple of high school kids would meet at the state fair pig barn and end up getting married?!” They’ve been together ever since; never looked back. They have centered their lives around each other, their families, their livestock, and their mutual love of their alma mater, Iowa State.
For their engagement session, we met at their home and explored their fields and pastures. The cows were not super interested in participating, but we did manage to get them in a few!
