Though by many definitions, they’ve already started and live a beautiful life together–including two gorgeous children–on this day, it was about celebrating their marriage, their commitment, and their happiness…together.
Laci & Johnny have known each other since their senior year of high school and I absolutely love how they describe their meeting and falling in love. (You can read about it here.) Getting to know them as a couple and a family over the last year has been such fun. Also, as a huge bonus, Laci was the matron of honor last month in Brittany’s wedding and Brittany returned the favor on this day for Laci. How lucky am I to photograph both of these beautiful women?!
Laci & J’s ceremony & reception were at The Celebration Farm, which was an absolutely perfect venue for this couple who loves the outdoors. I began the day by swooning over Laci’s dreamy ball gown. The way it flowed around her as she walked…I can’t even describe it.
I love this sweet moment with L & J’s daughter Jett helping button her mama into her wedding gown.
Just about a mile from The Celebration Barn is Wilson’s Orchard. We had gone their for Laci & Johnny’s engagement session last fall and it provided the perfect space for wedding photos as well! I love the anticipation of the first look.
Laci, you are gorgeous. For real.
I love how photos can erase some of the not-so-fun memories like humidity, heat, and a sticky breeze. Oh, and the bugs that kept getting caught up in the many layers of tulle in Laci’s skirt. See, you’d never know any of that was happening during these following moments…
A couple who lays in the grass makes me happy.
One of my favorite things ever as a wedding photographer is when the bridal party doesn’t perfectly match. I think it adds such dimension to photos. Both the maids and men were given instructions for the color scheme, but the freedom to wear something of their choosing. It helps when you have a classy bunch like this group because, seriously, look how gorgeous they all look!
There was a large, looming threat of rain headed our way just in time for the ceremony. Somehow, it missed us completely until later that night when everyone was indoors anyway.
Right before the sun set, we hopped outside for a few more photos. I love when my couples agree to do this!!
