As anyone close to them knows, Jamey & Griffin are beautifully unique. They have a wonderful sense of humor and got to witness that first back at their engagement session. They wanted a wedding that incorporated both the pomp and circumstance (well, Jamey did) as well as their love for life and fun and never taking things too seriously. What came about was the perfect combination and a really beautiful, lively party for them and their guests.
While their ceremony & reception were being set up in The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, the ladies were getting ready in the corner suite. Jamey & Griffin (but maybe mostly Jamey) chose light colors like blush pink, gold, nude, sage, and then accented it with a dark pop of plum. I loved this new take on blush pink weddings!
I loved this moment when some of the bridesmaids were trying to figure out what jewelry to wear and Jamey’s mom, Donna, went to her room and came back with a satchel full of jewelry for them to borrow.
This was supposed to be a tender moment with Jamey’s grandmother (whose birthday it was that day!), but then her grandma gave her a smart comment about standing up straight so she could do button properly. Everyone started laughing at the mature level of sass.
It was a combination of windy and hot that day, but thankfully, the lounge in the hotel is the PERFECT place to take indoor photos if it comes to that. Of all hotels I’ve been in, this one is my favorite for taking indoor photos. Jamey & Griffin shared their first look inside before we stepped out.
These are Jamey & Griffin’s nieces and nephews and, let’s just say, it was a comical situation trying to get them all to cooperate for photos. Aren’t they the cutest?!?
During the reception, I snuck the Jamey & Griffin back outside for some sunset photos. We didn’t get any actual sunset because it was too cloudy (storms were rolling in quickly!), but we did get some lovely evening light.
Inside, the party continued on and people tearing up the dance floor.
Jamey & Griffin, congratulations again! What a wonderful, beautiful celebration to be part of. I’m so honored and wish you guys so much love and happiness as you continue your journey together, now as a married couple!
