One year ago, these two were married under a beautiful canopy of trees in a Disney-inspired wedding at Rapid Creek Cidery. I still get swoony when I look back at that day. The florals that draped over practically everything (including floral crowns for all the bridesmaids!), that masterpiece of a cake that was the statement centerpiece of the reception, the larger than human size fairytale book that was hand-drawn by the groom at the entrance, the princess ballgown with layers upon layers of tulle…it was everything that Shannon and Ted had dreamed of and it was so much fun to photograph for their memories!
Now they are one year into marriage and wanted to celebrate with an anniversary session! We met out at the fossil gorge on a ridiculously humid evening last weekend with the perk being that no one else wanted to be outside so we had the place to ourselves!
Shannon wanted to incorporate paper into the shoot since paper is the traditional 1 year anniversary gift. We did some brain-storming and ended up with the idea of some paper confetti and paper airplanes. Both turned out to be so cute (and, yes, we cleaned up after ourselves).
