I’d have to go back and calculate, but I think I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the Ohloff family almost every year since I first met them back when the girls were little. I have had the pleasure of photographing Elizabeth and Seth’s engagement, wedding, and multiple family sessions since then (here, here, here, here, and here!). I feel like every year, I’m shocked by how much the kids have grown (I have my own and this strange phenomenon still shocks me.) and it’s fun to look back through the years and see by just how much!
Last fall I saw them when I did their extended family photos and Elizabeth asked if they could do a family session in the spring so I made a reminder for myself to contact them once we made it through winter. I never, ever have a worry about what this family is going to show up wearing because they have the best style and I’m always excited to see what the look is going to be and this fun pastel mood was perfect for a spring morning! They chose downtown Iowa City so we did a few different looks. I picked some architectural backgrounds to start with, away from people, and then we ventured into the pedestrian mall where I knew there would be more distractions. It ended up working perfectly because we got some of the best “formal” photos at the beginning and then some of the more “fun” ones towards the end, a perfect combination to round it all out.
