Hi, I'm Emily.

When I got there, I thought something must be wrong because she was completely calm; almost too calm. But despite my inquiry, she said she felt fine, not nervous, not anxious, just ready. Ready to become his wife.

Amber and Travis had planned an outdoor ceremony and I had known it was going to be beautiful, but the day before, rain had come. That morning, though no rain was on the forecast, the sky remained cloudy and the air chilly. For me, this was the best of luck because the sky created the best possible lighting for photos. For her, it meant a few quick glances at the sky to check on the chances of sun, though she never let it bother her when it didn’t shine. She just shrugged and said, “Well, they say that rain means good luck.”

Isn’t she so gorgeous?! I may have kept telling her that all day. I really, really want dimples just like hers.

You could say that I was obsessed with the back of her dress. It was absolutely stunning. I kind of felt sorry for her that she couldn’t look at her back all day.

One good-looking groom, but I did have to try to be extra funny so that I could get him to smile. You know that meant some awesome corniness on my part.

They opted for a First Look and, as a result, we had extra time for their photos together. Since they are both equally laid back and quiet, it felt so nice to be able to take time to walk around the pond and by the trees and slow the pace down a bit. It felt more natural. This was the first time they saw each other on their wedding day.

Can we just talk about how beautiful they are for a minute?

And that bouquet? Bobbie from Cherry Blossom Boutique created that amazing design. Everything she touches, I swear, turns to gold.

I have a really hard time picking favorites, but I think these next two might be it for me.

Their ceremony and reception were both at South Slope in North Liberty. The ceremony was out by the beautiful pond and the reception indoors the reception hall.

Grandma looks so proud and happy.
