Their reception was held just around the corner of the barn where they got married on the front lawn of her parents’ beautiful farmhouse.
The food was catered by Chef Mickey’s Catering Shoppe and it was so delicious! It was in between shooting that I discovered a true delicacy: cheese dipped in cheese dip. Try it sometime.
Their farm dog, Chili, even got dressed up for the occasion, including a green nail polish pedicure!
Perhaps the biggest hit were the gourmet candy apples by Ultimate Chocolates out of Davenport. There were so many flavors and Lisa insisted I take two home for my husband and me. I took her suggestion on the sugar & cinnamon flavor and the Oreo cookie flavor. Both were out of this world amazing. (Hint: you can find them at the Iowa City Farmer’s Market in the summer!)
As late afternoon wore into evening, the lights came on and the heaters in the tent provided just the perfect amount of warmth to the crisp evening. I stole Lisa and Andrew away for a bit to catch some of the sunset, which was clearly trying to steal the show that night.
I could sum it up no better than the groom himself who later told his wife: “Looking back, I wouldn’t change a single thing. Everything was perfect!” Perfect, indeed, it was.
