Read: What to Wear, Part 1
ou already know that I have a dress obsession. But for the rare occasion when I wear pants to weddings, here are some suggestions:
I love the Asos high-waisted paints because they are different. High-waists are a little retro and fit well for curvy people. Otherwise, regular dress pants of a neutral color will work well.
As I mentioned before, I like to keep my jewelry simple. Not because I don’t like flashy jewelry; I do! It’s because there are a lot of straps going on and off over my head that would get tangled in a necklace and/or caught in earrings.
For summer, there are two options: wear a dress and risk getting heat rash between your legs (sorry, it’s the blessed truth!) or wear pants and risk getting hot in general. If wearing a dress, I like to use a runners trick and use BodyGlide to help prevent the rash. Also, a pair of Spanx (the shorts version) will work well, but you’ll also feel pretty tucked in the whole night. Maybe you like that, maybe you don’t.
I love pairing nice blouses with my pants or skirts. I have recently made a haul at JCP, but I also keep my eyes open at TJMaxx, Kohls, and Younkers for styles similar to what you see above.
Shoes are coming up next week! I love talking about shoes; beware.
