He stood under a tree around the back of the church waiting for her to come to him. Her shoes put divots in the lawn as she made her way through the grass. She walked up behind him, tapped on his shoulder, and he turned to finally see her; his bride.

Mike & Julie were married in Iowa City at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Family & friends from coast to coast arrived to celebrate their day with them.

Julie’s bridesmaids all wrote messages to her on the bottom of her shoes. She waited until right before she got dressed to read them.

The florals were all done by Julie of Fountain of Flowers. I adore her creations!!!

This was their first time seeing their own wedding rings.

These little moments are magical. Truly magical.

After their ceremony, we headed over to Kinnick Stadium so these Hawkeye-loving fans could pay their respects.

The reception was at the Sheraton in Iowa City. Emily’s team there does an amazing job at pulling weddings together! And what would this space be without the uplighting from Unique Events?

Cake is always one of my favorite parts of a reception and I’m always super bummed when I don’t get a chance to grab some, especially if it’s by Adam at Tip Top Cakes. Not only are his cakes masterpieces, but they are absolutely delectable as well!
